President, Mic Hansen, retired Senior Vice President, Countrywide Financial. Mic joined the BOD of Heritage Housing Partners after serving as the past program chair of the Board of Directors of Leadership Pasadena, a well respected program designed to meet the demand for highly-skilled leaders in various facets of the Pasadena Community. Mic was also the recent past President of Pasadena Heritage Board of Directors, and serves as the Chair of the City of Pasadena Historic Preservation Commission. Board member since 2007. Vice President, Michael Williamson, Attorney, Buchalter Nemer. Michael is one of the founding Board members of HHP and served as its former Board President for many years. Michael’s expertise in real estate law has enabled HHP to maneuver efficiently through complex documents governing the affordable housing agreements and covenants HHP enters into with municipalities and state agencies. Michael is Chair of Buchalter Nemer’s Real Estate Group. He lectures frequently on financing issues, historic preservation, tax credits, and real estate transactions. Board member since 1998. Secretary, Mabell Garcia-Paine, President, MGP Marketing and Publicity.Mabell’s thirteen years of experience in marketing and public relations spans across some of California’s leading industries and companies: from La Opinion, the nation’s largest Spanish-language daily newspaper to Sempra Energy, a Fortune 500 energy services hoiding company. The diversity of industries and businesses combined with Mabell’s skills and expertise in marketing and advertising – especially to the Hispanic market – make her an invaluable marketing and public relations resource to HHP. Board member since 2005. Treasurer, John McAustin, Principal, Belrad Group. John is a Managing Director and one of the initial founders at Belrad Group. He has more than 22 years of experience in real estate finance, asset management, and development, including having run his own real estate finance consulting and asset management business, J. Gerard & Company, for nine years. In that capacity he performed engagements for clients such as Lehman Brothers’ Global Commercial Real Estate Group, Merrill Lynch, Pacific Gas & Electric, and the Resolution Trust Corporation. He spent the previous five years with the Los Angeles office of Draper and Kramer, a Chicago-based full service real estate firm, where he managed the workout process of troubled and foreclosed office properties for institutional clients. John received his undergraduate degree in Business from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA in Finance from DePaul University. Board member since 2009. Diana Britt, Community Activist, retired Human Resources Executive. Diana was one of the founders of HHP and served as the first President of the Board of Directors. Diana’s background in Human Resources as well as her knowledge of Pasadena and its neighboring communities make her one of HHP’s most versatile board members. She advises HHP in employee and organizational-related issues, while her extensive knowledge of “who’s who” in Pasadena points the staff of HHP in the right direction when trying to determine the best outreach for community relations. Board member since 1998. Michael Hamilton, Partner, DLA Piper US LLP. Michael Hamilton is a real estate attorney in the Los Angeles office of DLA Piper LLP (US). In 2008, The Daily Journal named him one of Los Angeles’ Top 20 Under 40 Lawyers, and Institutional Investors News named him one of its 20 Rising Stars of Real Estate. He has also been named a Southern California Rising Star, in a research process conducted by Los Angeles and Law & Politics magazines that polled the region's Super Lawyers. Michael specializes in commercial and real estate finance, project development/redevelopment, and environmental and natural resources. Michael was named the 2006 Southern California Rising Star by Law & Politics magazine. Michael was an environmental geophysicist prior to attending law school. Board member since 2006. Antonio Manning, Regional Manager for the West and Southwest Regions for JPMorgan Chase Global Philanthropy Group. In this role, Antonio manages philanthropic and community relations for a 10-state region. Previously, he served as First Vice President and Regional Grants Manager in Washington Mutual’s Community and External Affairs Division. In this capacity, he managed community relations and company corporate contributions in affordable housing, community development and educational reform initiatives for California. Antonio joined Washington Mutual in 2000. Prior to this, he served as the Western Regional Director of the Fannie Mae Foundation for an 11-state region. An active member of the community, Antonio is a founding member of African-Americans in Philanthropy, Southern California, a membership organization comprised of corporate and philanthropic executives. He currently serves as commissioner for the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority and is an advisory board member of the Blazers Youth Service Organization. Antonio attended the University of Southern California and is a native of Los Angeles. Mauricio Mejia, Program Manager, Pasadena Water & Power. Mauricio oversees the sustainability energy sources and green building programs for the City of Pasadena. He assists HHP in incorporating energy efficient and green building products in its construction. Board member since 2005. Andrew Oliver, President, Oliver and Associates. Andrew is President of Oliver and Associates in Pasadena, a Land Planning and Development Consultant firm specializing in predevelopment due diligence and the preparation of development concepts. Andrew’s past experience includes Project Manager for BMG, LLC, Real Estate Development; Real Estate Manager for Galpin Motors; and Vice President, Planning and Processing for Southwest Diversified, Inc., including the highly successful 272 unit La Vina Home Development. Andrew also serves as a Board member of Alta/Pasa Community Improvement Center. Board member since 2008. David Rodriguez, Principal, Public Private Ventures. David specializes in public/private real estate transactions, and is generally responsible for real property negotiations related to the acquisition of property for community college campuses. He utilizes his broad range of experience in predevelopment program management and due diligence investigation (i.e., market, financial, entitlement, and redevelopment analysis) to structure viable public/private development opportunities. David served as HHP’s Board President from 2006 to 2008. Board member since 2005. Jerry Ruiz, Counsel, Adorno & Yoss. Jerry is of Counsel to Adorno & Yoss, a Los Angeles based law firm serving the United States and South America. Jerry has practiced law for over 24 years and has represented institutional, corporate and individual clients in real estate and business transactions. More recently, Jerry served as Senior Vice President of Wells Fargo Bank’s Community Development Group. Jerry was also a Senior Counsel in Wells Fargo Bank’s Law Department in Los Angeles where he practiced for more than 11 years as a member of the Real Estate Section and acted as general counsel for the Wells Fargo Community Development Corporation. Board member since 2006. Leslie Diaz Villavicencio, Marketing Consultant. Leslie’s background includes communications and marketing in the corporate arena and development and outreach in the nonprofit world. Her experience includes having worked in management at Southern California Edison for six years and in various leadership positions at several Los Angeles area nonprofits, including Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center, El Centro de Accion Social, Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles, National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, and the East Los Angeles Classic Theater, Inc. Board member since 2004. Teresa L. Wilde., Senior Vice President, Bank of America. Teresa is a Credit Risk Manager for BofA’s Community Development Banking and is actively involved in reviewing and approving debt financing for construction of affordable housing in low- and moderate-income communities throughout the Midwest and Western United States. She has a strong interest in historic preservation and is a member of the Los Angeles Conservancy and the National Trust for Historic Preservation as well as The Royal Oak Foundation. She has served as past President and Treasurer for the Board of the Directors of The Friends of the Gamble House. Board member since 2009. Board Advisory Committee Members: Claire Bogaard, Community Activist. Claire Bogaard was the co-founder of Pasadena Heritage and one of the original Board members of Heritage Housing Partners. Claire’s impact on the City of Pasadena cannot be overstated, as she spearheaded the preservation of Old Pasadena –– now a national model of how historic preservation and community revitalization can also lead to tremendous commercial success.
