280 E. Claremont (1999)
This project consisted of the rehabilitation of a 1925 Mission Revival bungalow. Located in the Garfield Heights Landmark District (which HHP helped create), the home was acquired by HHP at the urging of neighborhood residents. The small, 750-square foot two-bedroom home had been a rental unit for more than a decade. In poor condition, it nevertheless contained unique architectural elements such as a Claycraft tile fireplace, wood sash windows, vintage hardware, and hardwood floors which were restored by HHP. The home was acquired in May 1999 and rehabilitation work began shortly after acquisition. The property was sold in December 1999 to a moderate-income mother-daughter household.
